Direct Indexing
We review every position, every day. +3.0% average annual tax alpha on US Large Cap, compared to 0.84% from annual ETF harvesting.
Most direct indexing requires $200K+. Vise gives every client access to optimization-driven DI regardless of account size.
Not limited to a preset menu. US Large Cap, Small Cap, Developed ex-US, All Cap, or a custom blend. If we don't have the index, we'll build it with you.
Daily Tax Loss Harvesting
Most platforms scan for harvesting opportunities on a schedule: monthly, quarterly, or when an advisor remembers to run it manually. Vise scans every position in every account every day.
Direct indexing inside of the rest of your portfolio.
Run DI alongside ETFs, mutual funds, and long-short in a single account on a single platform. Rebalancing, trading, reporting, and household management are built in.

What's the minimum to get started?
We do not have a minimum for Direct Indexing.
How is Vise's tax-loss harvesting different?
Vise's optimizer reviews every position in every account daily, not on a monthly or quarterly schedule. Daily scanning captures significantly more harvesting opportunities. The result: +3.0% average annual tax alpha on US Large Cap, +3.5% on US Small Cap, and +2.1% on Developed ex-US, with automated wash sale avoidance across accounts and household-level coordination.
Can I use my own investment models?
Yes. Vise supports nearly any starting universe or index, and if we don't have one you need, we'll work with you to add it. You can customize the number of holdings, factor tilts, ESG exclusions, sector restrictions, and individual security restrictions at both the firm and client level.
What if my client has concentrated positions?
Vise builds around them. The optimizer treats concentrated and locked positions as constraints, constructing the rest of the portfolio to manage overall risk and tracking error. When it's time to diversify, we create a personalized transition plan with separate short-term and long-term gain budgets so your client controls exactly how much tax impact they take on and when.
Which asset classes are available?
US Large Cap, US Small Cap, US All Cap, Developed ex-US (via ADRs tracking MSCI EAFE), Emerging Markets, single-security fixed income, and alternatives including commodities and REITs.

Long Short
Long Short adds a short book that generates losses regardless of market direction. Same account, same platform.
